Research Title
Bubble Pump: A Solution to Reduce Ocean Heat and Protect Marine Ecosystems
Research Abstract
Because ocean temperatures have increased, this leads to coral bleaching, fish migration, and disruption of marine ecosystems. Therefore, our solution is the BUBBLE PUMP: The Bubble Pump is a geoengineering approach designed to reduce ocean heat. It works by bringing cooler, deeper water to the surface through a tube, where it mixes with warmer surface water, thereby lowering its temperature. When the cooler water reaches the surface, it generates bubbles that have reflective properties. These bubbles reduce solar radiation absorption, resulting in less heat being retained in the ocean. Additionally, the system includes a filtration component that helps remove debris, dirt, and suspended particles, as well as excess nutrients and CO₂. The device operates gradually to prevent sudden temperature changes and to allow the water to absorb oxygen when exposed to the air.
