Research Abstract
Older asians with hand osteoarthritis often feel that their struggles with daily activities are not recognised as their condition is perceived as mild (Thumboo et al., 2017). This study revealed that 20 to 30 per cent of our elderly population may have hand osteoarthritis that is symptomatic. In other words, about 20 to 30 per cent of our elderly population may not be able to eat independently and are not able to get help to overcome this issue because it is not perceived to be a severe issue. MagiCloud's innovative holder, MagiHolder, is an affordable product that helps the elderly eat independently. This would lighten the workload of caregivers. In addition, the elderly can enjoy more time to pursue their hobbies and maintain their relationships with their friends.
